    Benefits of Member Logins

StarChapter allows members to log into the Member Area page of their organization's StarChapter system, but benefits extend beyond that single page. Member logins allow additional benefits to both members and the organization's leadership as detailed below.

    Member Benefits

    • Member Information Editor. Members can review their profile and group assignments. If membership is managed locally, updates are permitted. Within this area, all members can hide information that they don't want shared to the Member Directory or other public displays.
    • Access to restricted content. This may include a Member Directory, documents, announcements, forum, or other member-specific content. This is a great way to increase the value of membership.
    • Dues payment. If dues are managed by the chapter, logins allow members to pay online without intervention by a board member. Scheduled emails can be setup to send renewal reminders to expiring members and prompt them to login and pay easily.
    • Discounted ticket prices. If discounted registration is offered to members, logins must be enabled for members to access those tickets.
    • Order and Payment History. Using the View My Payment History members can review past orders, cancel registrations*, and pay outstanding balances.
    • Vouchers. If free meetings are offered for chapter leaders or volunteers, vouchers can only be accessed with members are logged in.

    Administrative Benefits

    • Increased membership value. Placing desirable content and member pricing for meeting tickets behind a member login will increase the value of membership and lead to increased member numbers.
    • Decreased workload for chapter leadership. Automating tasks such as dues processing will allow board members to focus on growing the organization in other ways.
    • Attendance tracking. If members are logging in and purchasing member tickets for meetings, they will be tracked on the Meeting Attendance for Members report. Additionally, emails can be targeted to members with low attendance at meetings. This is allows for targeted outreach to the members least likely to renew their membership.
    • CE Credits. Continuing Education credits can only be tracked for member tickets.

    * Members can only cancel their own registrations if that option is enabled within Meetings > Settings > Permissions.
