StarChapter is much more than a website, but the website is the public-facing portion that members and prospective members will see. The website must provide a good first impression for prospective members, a functional and useful resource for members, and a way for your chapter to communicate with both of those groups. This requires engaging content and good organization.
Writing content can be more challenging than anticipated, but it is a very important part of your website setup. If you need new content, consider using an AI tool, such as Chat GPT, to get you started. Chat GPT will allow you to enter some basic information that you want to include and it will put that together in paragraph format. The generated response can be a helpful way to generate ideas, draft articles, or give you a framework to then add your organization’s expertise and tone. You will need to edit what the AI tool provides to ensure that it is accurate and reads well, but editing is typically a faster task than creating the content initially.
What to Write First
StarChapter keeps your website up to date using dynamic content sections that automatically update the website display based on the content you enter into the Admin Area. This minimizes the effort needed by your chapter leadership to maintain the website as it will update automatically when meetings and periodic content such as newsletters and blogs are cycled. Amidst all of that dynamic content, it is important to have some general information available at all times, which may be on custom pages with content you've provided. If you are creating an initial website or starting over with all content, we recommend focusing on the core pages first and then building out any additional pages as you move forward. StarChapter makes it easy to add and edit pages at any time, so your website can evolve with your chapter's needs.
Your website will include the pages needed by your chapter, but the example below reference some of the most commonly used or created pages. You can add or remove any of these from your own website based on your chapter's needs.
