Create a Blog Post
Blogs provide a way to add regular articles to your website intended to engage members and website visitors. Commenting can be permitted to increase that engagement and increase activity on your StarChapter system. All published Blog posts will be posted to /blog.php. Several different content sections can be used to pull blog posts to other pages of the system. These can be setup as stand-alone pages or as excerpts to pull users to the main blog page.
- Go to Content > Community > Blog.
- Click Add a Post.
- Set Publish and Archive dates, as appropriate. If a publish date is not defined, the post will not display on the website until it is manually published.
- Edit the Commenting permissions. These will pull from the global commenting settings in Content > Community > Settings > Blog, so these only need to be changed within each post if they will diverge from those global settings.
- Assign a category, if desired. Only one category can be selected per blog post.
- Click Next.
- Add an Icon and/or Excerpt. These are both optional fields.
- Add a Title and Content. These two fields create the overall blog post.
- Click Next.
- If a Publish Date wasn't defined, click Publish when the blog should be posted to the website. This button will not be available if a Publish Date has been set.
