StarChapter may be legally required to collect sales tax on setup fees, subscription fees, and other various service fees related to StarChapter's service. The tax rate will be determined by the location of your organization. If your organization is tax-exempt, StarChapter is required to have documentation on file. Acceptable documentation would include a letter or form from your state indicating exemption from sales tax, such as those listed in this article. Please defer to your state tax agency for any updates or changing requirements.
Within 60 days of sign-up or as soon as tax-exempt status is received, upload this paperwork within the Customer Account Area of your StarChapter system. This paperwork will be reviewed, and if acceptable, the Tax-Exempt Status within the Customer Account Area will reflect that change. The review process does take several business days.
Click on the person icon/your username at the top right of your Admin Area display.
Click the Upload Tax Documentation button.
Click Choose File.
Select your document from your local network.
Click Submit.
Repeat this process for each document, if there are multiple.
