Non-profit organizations may submit their 501c form to StarChapter in order to be exempt from sales tax. Organizations without 501c paperwork may have to pay sales tax, depending on tax laws within their state.
Proof of tax exempt status can be submitted at any time through the Customer Account Area accessed through your StarChapter Admin Area. Acceptable documentation would include the IRS letter stating tax exempt status, a 501c letter from the IRS (a state letter is not acceptable), or a 990 tax form from one of the past 3 years.
Login to the StarChapter admin area.
Click your admin username on the top navigation bar and selectCustomer Account Area.
In the Primary Contact Information section, review the Tax-Exempt Status field.
If the Tax-Exempt Status is not accurate, upload your tax documentation.
