Corporate Member Manager is a tool that caters to a very specific type of corporate membership structure. This tool is not the right fit for all corporate membership setups. If you are unsure if the Corporate Member Manager tool is the right fit for your organization, please submit a Support Ticket and our Support Team will review your system and offer guidance. To determine if the Corporate Member Manager is the right fit for your organization, consider the member structure within each company membership and the dues structure.
Corporate Member Manager requires an administrator to be assigned to each company. This should be a member covered by that company's membership who will have the rights to add and remove additional members and pay dues. If there is not a primary contact with each company that will be responsible for those tasks, the Corporate Member Manager will not be a sustainable solution.
Dues are charged to each company based on the number of spots assigned to their account. This means that there must be a set number of individuals permitted for each company and dues will be charged based on that number, regardless of the number of people actually assigned at the time dues are paid. For instance, if a company is permitted 4 individuals for a total cost of $200, the dues rate will be $50 for that company and they will have 4 spots assigned to their Corporate Member Manager profile. If only 2 people are assigned to the company's membership at the time of renewal, they will still be charged $200 but their invoice will display 2 blank member spots.
More frequently, the Group Manager is used to manage corporate membership as it is a more flexible solution. If the group setup was used during your initial StarChapter setup and no major changes have been made to your corporate membership management, the group structure is the right fit for your organization.
