    Sponsor Logo Best Practices

Good sponsor programs benefit both the organization and the sponsor companies. The income stream from a successful sponsor program can fund an organization's programming, website, and/or specific initiatives. To ensure that sponsors are happy and interested in renewing, benefits should be clear and consistent.

Displaying sponsor logos on your website is a primary benefit for most sponsor programs. As logos are received, resize them to ensure that all sponsors are displayed with a similar sized image and use StarChapter's built-in sponsor content sections to provide equal promotion for all companies at each sponsor level.

    Sponsor Logos

Logos come in a variety of shapes with some being wider, some taller, and some very boxy. Resize images with their longest side being a pre-determined length. 200-250 pixels is recommended in most cases as that size will work in all sidebars and email templates throughout StarChapter. Setting the longest side of the logo to that length, rather than just setting a consistent width for all logos, will be more more consistent and avoid very tall logos from being significantly larger than horizontally oriented logos.

When a new sponsor logo is submitted, check the logo size prior to approving. If the logo is too large, it can be resized within the sponsor profile.

    Company Website Links

Website links work in conjunction with company logos to improve the benefit to sponsors. Within StarChapter's Sponsors & Advertisers tool, add each company's website url to the URL field within their profile. StarChapter will automatically link the logo on all displays and open the company's website in a new tab of the user's browser.

    Use StarChapter's Sponsor Content Sections

StarChapter provides multiple ways to display sponsor logos, and some content sections will randomize the image display. The Sponsor Horizontal Display, Sponsor Image Rotator, Sponsor Image Ticker, and Sponsor Vertical Display randomize the logo order. This provides each sponsor equal promotion and avoids the same image always being first in a rotation or at the top of a static display. Built-in content sections always provide an easy way to display only certain categories of sponsors.
