Meetings > Settings > Payments control global payment settings for the entire StarChapter system. Many of these settings are duplicated in Dashboard > Quick Start > Connect Your Gateway, so changing them in either location will update the system configuration.
Payment Processing
Set test mode for credit card processing?
This setting should only be checked if there is not a payment gateway connected to StarChapter. Leaving this setting enabled while a payment gateway is connected will result in "test transactions" being run. This will appear as though payments are being processed, but no funds will be transfered. There is no way to replicate a test transaction. Remove the checkmark from this setting when a payment gateway is connected to the system.
Disable credit card processing?
This setting should be checked only when a payment gateway is not connected to the system. It will be disabled to allow credit card processing at the same time the gateway is connected.
Allow users to pay by check or cash (credit card bypass)?
To force a credit card payment at the time of registration, leave this setting unchecked. This ensure that all funds are collected prior to the meeting and reduces the time spent on collection tasks.
To allow cash or check payment, check this setting and enter instructions in the Credit card bypass message box. This text will display with the bypass button on the payment screen. Keep instructions general to ensure they will pertain to all meetings. The remittance address is typically included here.
Tax Rate
If tax is required in your local area, set the tax rate here. This will be applied globally to all meeting registration orders.
Payment Gateway
This section indicates the payment gateway that is connected to your system. This is for informational purposes only. The gateway can be updated in Dashboard > Quick Start > Enter Payment Settings.
My Payment gateway requires the credit card authorization code
Check this setting to add an authorization code field to the payment screen. Check your payment gateway account to determine if that information is required to process transactions.
My payment gateway accepts the following credit cards
Based on your agreement with your payment gateway, check the credit card types that are accepted. Checking a credit card option here that is not available with your payment gateway account will cause confusion for registrants, so be sure that this information matches the agreement with your payment gateway.
