Delayed PayPal Reporting
PayPal Standard has limited functionality compared to all other compatible payment gateways because users are routed away from the StarChapter software to process transactions. This creates a delay between the order being placed and associated orders or registrations appearing within StarChapter.
When an order is created within StarChapter, an order number is assigned but not posted in Orders and Transactions > Order Manager until the transaction is finalized by payment or payment bypass. When users leave your StarChapter system to complete PayPal transactions, the transaction history must be transferred back to StarChapter to finalize that order. When users click the link in PayPal to return to your system after completing their payment, their transaction history returns with them and the order is posted to the Order Manager. When users do not return to the StarChapter system, the order remains in a pending status. Every two hours, StarChapter requests an account transaction history from PayPal and reconciles any outstanding orders in your system. At that time, the order will post to you Order Manager.
If admins are reconciling accounts or working with member profiles or registrations, they may be missing orders placed within the past 2 hours.
This delay does not happen with any other payment gateway as all other options integrate seamlessly with the StarChapter software.
