TRANSCRIPT
PCI compliance is important for anyone accepting credit cards online. PCI is a set of security and policy standards that credit card companies have agreed upon. It's meant to protect consumers, and also to protect the credit card companies by limiting contested charges.
If you're not compliant, you may be charged an extra fee by your merchant account or gateway provider, or they may put a hold on funds that you receive.
StarChapter handles the technical side of PCI compliance for you. The policy side is what we're looking at today. We'll be posting our chapter's mailing address and phone number, a refund policy, a shipping policy, terms of use, and a privacy policy. Our shipping policy can just be a statement that we don't ship anything. If the chapter doesn't have a mailing address, usually mail is sent to the president or treasurer. Whatever address is in use should be posted. I've already prepared my text in a separate document.
We can create new pages for these if we want to, but I prefer to use the built-in system pages instead.
In Content > Page Manager > Page Content, we'll find our Contact Us page. We'll click on the Content and Layout button and then click on the plus sign in our main column to add content. For the section template, I'll use Blank. I'm copying and pasting material into this new section.
We can do some formatting changes here to make everything look good. Once it's ready, I'll publish it using the button at the bottom.
StarChapter also includes built-in pages for your Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. We have sample content posted within them that you can customize as you need. Be aware that these are legal notices, so you should review them carefully before publishing them.
I'll start with the Terms of Use page. I'll click on Content and Layout, and if I haven't looked at this page before, I'll click on Preview and read through it. I'll click to edit, and as before, I have something prepared in the other window. And then I'll publish it.
I'll do the same thing for the privacy policy.
