    Imports Settings

Membership > Settings > Imports includes settings to manage member imports and the ability for members to manage profiles locally.

    Import Maps

Import maps are created to match fields in StarChapter with column headers in previously imported spreadsheets of member and non-member data. It is the import maps that allow future imports to be completed quickly and consistently. Maps can be reviewed and deleted in this table. To edit or create a map, complete an import and all updates will be saved.

    General

    Turn on Split Name field?

If rosters are received from a parent organization with first and last name in a single cell of the spreadsheet, enable this setting to add a field to the import map tool that can separate and properly save the name to the appropriate fields within StarChatper.

    Automated File Import

    Turn on Automated File Imports?

A few National organizations have a tool configured with StarChapter that will push updated member rosters into chapter systems on a regular basis. If you are not sure if your chapter is eligible for these automated imports or you are uncertain how to connect your system to your National organization for automated imports, please reach out to our Support Team for further assistance.

    Import Field Settings

    Disable edits to imported fields?

This setting should be enabled when membership is managed by a National organization and regular imports are completed. Since imports sync all local data with incoming spreadsheets, allowing local edits to imported fields will result in a loss of data and a lot of confusion from members.
