Starting in February 2024, Google and Yahoo are implementing new email authentication requirements for bulk email senders. The changes are to protect recipients from scams and phishing attempts by authenticating incoming emails based on specific requirements. Authentication is an integrated part of StarChapter's mailing setup by default.
StarChapter has applied the required updates to align with Google and Yahoo's new policies. It may take some time for all email providers to adapt to those guidelines. Many email software platforms are reporting an increase in delivery issues immediately following these new requirements, but those should improve as email providers adjust to the new policies.
Postmaster
The most visible sign of these updates is the From and Reply-To addresses associated with your outgoing email. Moving forward, all email sent through StarChapter systems will be from [email protected], but you will be able to enter a Reply-To Address and Sender Name when drafting your email. The recipient will see the Sender Name, if one has been entered.
Google and Yahoo Email Authentication
The required updates to support Google and Yahoo's new guidelines are already in place. No action is needed from you. If you find that additional recipients are suddenly having issues receiving email, they can add your organization to their Allow List. The Allow List identifies email from your organization as being from a known sender and ensures that it is delivered to the recipient's inbox. They should share this article with their IT team or email provider.
Hard Failures and Soft Bounces
There may be an increase in soft bounces due to these recent updates and this may continue until all email providers have adjusted to these new policies. This article provides information about how to track and address these issues within StarChapter. Please submit a Support Ticket if further troubleshooting is needed for any of your contacts.

Getting email into inboxes can be a challenge for all organizations. In addition to the technical aspects of your email configuration, the content of your email is critical to avoid being flagged as spam.
